New Tricks For Touring The Snack Aisle

This year, resolve to try foods from the grocery store that aren't explained in your language.

Happy 2025, friends! I spent the week watching Princess Belle (visiting our house) declare that our little one is now a member of their royal family while sprinkling glittery fairy dust over her. Fascinating… I think my equivalent this week will be ordaining myself the fierce badass that I am and dripping wine into my mouth as I declare the level of badass that I am. I won’t have a certificate like her but I bet I will get a good night’s sleep. Anyhoo, think about what you want in 2025 and it may include teaching new tricks or touring the food aisles (weird, right?) - just make sure you get Sassy Max international goodies as you go otherwise he will point out where you are lacking in life.

New Year, New Tricks for Your Dog

Yay, it is a new year! But move over gym memberships and fad diets - January is officially for the dogs! National Train Your Dog Month is here to help you turn your pup into a star student. Whether your goal is mastering “sit,” perfecting recall, or finally convincing your fur baby that the mailman isn’t his arch-nemesis, this is the month to make it happen.

So why January? Because it’s prime time for setting goals (and not just your moving more goal that has you in your recliner week three thinking about it).

Gone are the days of harsh commands and outdated techniques. Today’s training is all about positive vibes and reward-based methods that even the pickiest pup will love (yes, even that stubborn one). Think treats, toys, and heaps of praise. Bonus: training isn’t just for your dog - it’s a workout for your patience and creativity too.

Not sure where to start? There are more resources now than ever before! From YouTube tutorials to Fido Family, you can teach everything from basic commands to Instagram-worthy tricks. We really like the training from Doggie Dan because it’s fun, our dogs love it, and it works! Slap on your shoes and let's go.

Carts, Chips, and Culture: A New Way to Explore the World

Plan your next getaway but instead of focusing on five-star restaurants and ancient ruins, tour supermarkets. That's the latest trend happening and folks are posting their tourism finds on social media.

Sounds strange, but it's actually pretty genius because a supermarket is a cultural buffet. You get a front-row seat to local life - what people eat, how they snack, and what wild potato chip flavors they’re into (caviar and dill chips, anyone?). It’s like anthropology but with snacks.

Plus, it’s cheap entertainment. Entry is free, and you can walk out with souvenirs like orange Fanta in a bottle shaped like a gourd or chocolate bars with labels you can’t read but are definitely intriguing.

Supermarket tourism isn’t just about food - it’s the joy of finding something completely unexpected. Spotted in the wild: a six-foot baguette in France, pre-sliced bananas in Japan, and milk cartons that look like designer handbags in Korea. Who needs museums when you’ve got this level of creativity? Ok, let's be honest... I may do that during the day but at night I'm still going to that five-star restaurant!

My dog has a very specific schedule. We play at 4:00. Not 4:01! She is quite punctual 😀 This made me curious how you spend time with your dog(s).

How do you usually spend time with your dog?
