Reverse Gravity
This room looks funny...it's upside down!
You may be so structured in your daily routines like most of us, so let’s change all of that for a moment. Expand your mind and perspective by reading about the upside down house (I guess when I spill my drink it goes on the ceiling then, strange). Then pick up some tips on ideas to engage your dog physically and mentally inside the house - your dog will thank you! Sassy Max thanks you for the treadmill because he gets to flaunt his bod.
If you enjoy our newsletter, please tell your buddies about it - this is how we keep our newsletter going. And we would love to feature your fur babies in one of our newsletters with your own story - please write us at [email protected]. Also, we are now heading straight into March so check out the St. Patrick’s Day section for you and your dog in our Q1 holiday catalogue - it’s fun to window shop. I also look forward to you joining our Fido Family (details in newsletter).

Gravity's Playpen
Let's change your perspective for a moment - about nearly everything! Nestled in Melville, Port Shepstone, the Upside-Down House stands as a delightful defiance of gravity and convention. This isn’t just an architectural curiosity - it’s a whimsical world where every element of design takes a playful twist. Here, floors become ceilings and ceilings transform into the very ground upon which visitors tread.
Imagine stepping into a realm where elegant chandeliers dangle like sparkling constellations from what would typically be a floor, and dining tables hover overhead in a mesmerizing dance with gravity. The walls, adorned with inverted paintings and quirky murals, narrate tales of a universe where perspective is everything.
Every corner of the house is meticulously crafted to surprise and delight. A bookshelf, cleverly designed to “float” against the wall, reveals secret messages and quirky quotes when nudged gently. In the kitchen, utensils cling to the underside of countertops, creating a surreal tableau that feels both familiar and fantastically absurd. And in the charming cafe nook, chairs seem to be suspended by invisible threads, inviting guests to savor artisan coffee while contemplating the magic of altered reality.
The Upside-Down House isn’t merely a place - it’s an experience that celebrates the joy of looking at the world from a different angle. It reminds us that sometimes, a change in perspective is all it takes to uncover a hidden realm of lighthearted wonder and unexpected beauty. I'm sold, take me there. I'll gladly have an upside down beverage.

What’s Wrong With Your Dog

Indoor Canine Capers
It is quite frigid where I live but I still need my dog to get exercise and have fun. So, when outdoor adventures aren’t possible, transform your home into a fun playground for your pup. It will help your lil fur babe get some energy out too. Here are 10 creative indoor activities that mix physical exercise with mental challenges - I do nearly all of them:
Hide and Seek: Hide treats (or even yourself - my dog is too fast for that one) and let your dog’s super-sniffing skills lead them to the treasure.
Indoor Obstacle Course: Use chairs, cushions, and boxes to create a mini agility course for weaving, jumping, and crawling.
Interactive Puzzle Toys: Challenge your furry friend with puzzle toys that reward clever problem-solving with tasty treats. My dog has probably ten of these.
Tug-of-War: Engage in a friendly tug game that builds muscle and teaches impulse control - with fun treat breaks along the way (tip: make sure the tug isn't affecting your dog's teeth).
Training Sessions: Combine learning and movement by teaching commands like “spin” or “jump,” making training an active game. I taught my dog sit, lay down, roll over, up, give me five and hold, pray, etc. Make the sessions short and fun, not a chore for you or your dog.
Stair Climbing: Turn your staircase into a quick cardio session that burns energy and strengthens muscles.
Flirt Pole Play: Use a flirt pole - a long stick with a toy on the end - to encourage chasing and leaping in bursts of excitement (or just sit on the floor and move the toy around you).
Indoor Fetch: Adapt fetch for your living space using soft toys, keeping play energetic without risking breakage.
Scent Work Games: Hide treats or create a snuffle mat to stimulate your dog’s keen sense of smell and natural instincts. I sometimes do this during my indoor walking and my dog loves to find them.
Treadmill Training: With patience and positive reinforcement, some dogs learn to walk on a treadmill for steady indoor exercise. My dog loves the treadmill and walks freely on it. I tuck a blanket around the end of it for a bit of extra security for the little guy.
So change it up! Get inventive. You may even keep some of these as the weather is nicer for outdoor walks. Think outside the doggie box.

We hate inflation
With all of the financial experts warning people that everything is going to be more expensive in 2025, it’s time to lock in prices for insurance. At least one thing will save money. Maybe you can even afford eggs.

The fib is C. Due to its short span, February almost never experiences a blue moon—the phenomenon of a second full moon in one month—unlike the longer months that occasionally do.
